May 2008 Car of the Month
1969 Z/28 owned by Peter Sebastian (Etobicoke, Ontario)
Peter is the original owner of this 69Z. He purchased it in the spring of
1970 from Golden Mile Chevrolet in Scarborough, Ontario. From the factory Peter's
car was Fathom Green with white stripes and standard black interior. Surprisingly,
Peter's car had optional A67 - folding rear sear, a very rare option.
Early on, Peter raced his Z/28 in both drag and slalom with much success in both.
At the present, this car has a 327 with about 300 horses. The driveline has been
upgraded with shocks, brakes, wheels, tires, sway bars, power steering and a tilt
wheel. The interior now has Recaro seats and Vintage Air. The most obvious modification
on Peter's car is the paint. Peter put a Baldwin theme into the refresh of his car by
painting it Competition Yellow with the one black stripe. Peter tells me that he
still has all of the original parts.
Peter says his car is very reliable and a joy to drive. The odometer shows
63,000 miles. Yes that is exactly how far this car has gone since day one.
Enjoy, Peter!
