About Us
A Message from the President
Automobile manufacturing must be among the most
difficult industry in the entire world. The government emission regulations,
safety standards and union demands constantly make for major challenges.
The designers struggle to imagine what car shoppers will expect in the years
to come and yet have no clue as to what the market will bare or how much
better the competition will have read the future.
Models come and go but very few cars can match the
colourful history that the Camaro has enjoyed. Everyone has either
owned a Camaro or knows someone who has owned a Camaro and has a
story to tell that includes the car. The Ontario Camaro club is made
up of folks like this who have a soft spot in their hearts for the
Chevrolet icon. For over forty years Camaros have roamed the streets
evolving through four distinct body designs always living up to their
reputation as being a sexy, nasty and fun car at a reasonable price.
When production came to an end in 2002, it was a sad day indeed for
many of us who have come to love the Camaro, but now a new day has
dawned.
On March 16th 2009, the all new fifth generation
of Camaro began. The engineers have managed to put together a modern
Camaro that reflects its heritage, manages fuel consumption very well,
is reasonably priced and has not been neutered in the performance
department. It has been some time since something this exciting has
made it to the showroom floor and the Ontario Camaro Club could not
be happier. Let the celebration begin and watch for some real good
deals on Mustangs and Challengers at your local Chevy dealers used
car inventory.

About Us
The Ontario Camaro Club is dedicated to the preservation of the Camaro.
We encourage the ownership and care of all Camaros ...original, restored,
modified or race ready.
Our club was established in August 1988 as the Ontario Chapter of the
International Camaro Club. On January 1, 1999, we became the Ontario Camaro
Club. We are an independent organization managing our own membership,
newsletter, events and website.
We are a non-profit entity and proceeds resulting from any of our special
activities are for the benefit and support of our selected charity, the Spina
Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Ontario. To find out more about SB&H
just click on
Spina Bifida.
Every year, we host the Ontario Camaro Nationals which is the longest running
Camaro-only show in Canada and this past June 2009 was our 21st annual event. To
see what's going on at this year's show visit the
2010 SHOW page.
We are very indebted to our valued Sponsors who make our show and our very
existence possible. Please support them at every opportunity. Visit our
SPONSORS PAGE to find out who can help you with
your Camaro.
We have over 235 active members. Although most of our members are from
the province of Ontario, we do have members from other provinces and the
United States as well.
Our meetings are on the last Saturday of the month from September to
May (excluding December) at
Wilson Niblett Chevrolet
in Richmond Hill, Ontario....our headquarters dealership.
Along with our annual Summer BBQ, we choose a show each summer as our
club participation event and travel as a group to one of our brother/sister
club shows. We never go unnoticed at these events. Our awesome cars always
take more than their fair share of awards and along with sporting our club
banner and apparel, the OCC makes a positive impression wherever it goes.
Each March, the OCC participates in Performance World at the International
Centre on Airport Road in Toronto where we have a walk-around display made up
of members' cars. Each year will see new and different cars being showcased.
To find out about membership in the OCC, please visit our
MEMBERSHIP page. Our Membership Application/Renewal
Form can be printed from this section. We have come a long way and there's a lot
more of the journey left. So come aboard for the great Camaro experience.... OCC style!!
